LONDON UNDONE

LONDON UNDONE is the story of the first sexual revolution in England. It is based on real people and events which unfold in a dramatic and provocative story of survival, personal freedom, murder and love. During the Blitz of WWII (267 days and nights of continuous bombing) the people of London found themselves not only on the brink of the collapse of the British Empire but in the midst of unheralded social experimentation. It was a time when everyone was convinced there was a bomb with their name on it, compelling them to ignore traditional morals and live like there was no tomorrow. It was a time when gas masks were worn with lingerie. A time when the police, busy with far more serious matters, allowed London’s most popular nightclub, Café de Paris, to become a place to drink, dance and forget that you were going to die.

RINGXIETY

“We’re living in the freaky Sci-Fi part of humanity right now and I think the ending is still up for grabs.” Technology has given us the ability to communicate 24/7/365. And we know more about each other than ever before. But is that a good thing? Does OVER COMMUNICATING rob us of the last bit of individual freedom left in the world? Is it possible to have a meaningful relationship with someone who isn’t human?

PURSUIT

There are over 1,000 police pursuits in Los Angeles every year. And once they start, we just can’t stop… WATCHING. But behind the reckless driving, the pit maneuvers and the high tech helicopter coverage, people’s real lives, relationships and careers are forever changed… and often ended. TV stations call it news. Cops call it exhilarating. What do you call it?

ONE NIGHT STAND OFF

Ray and Melissa are sent away for the weekend by their therapist with explicit instructions on how to improve their marriage. They actually seem to be re-learning how to get along when, as they sleep, they are awakened by strange noises in their rented beach house. As the noise continues, panic convinces them someone is trying to break in. While fearing for their lives and preparing to defend themselves, they continue to navigate their marital problems, slinging innuendos, lies, and painful truths at each other, as they make a stand not only for themselves but also against the unknown.

Mid Century Modern examines what it’s like to find yourself when you are surrounded, and sometimes smothered, by those around you.

THE SWEATER CURSE

While her boyfriend has been away for a month, Charlotte has worn her fingers to the bone knitting an extravagant welcome home sweater for him. But his less than enthusiastic reception of it tests their ability to move the relationship to the next level. Needing someone to mediate the argument, they enlist their gay neighbor, only to have the situation escalate further, proving true the knitting adage that if you knit something for someone you love, the relationship is doomed to fail.  And is there any truth to the theory that the gifts you give are a direct reflection of how much you value your relationship?

WINDFALL

WWW.WINDFALLTHEPLAY.COM - In Columbus, Ohio, five office workers toil under the heavy hand of a maniacal boss and dream of a better life. And when the abuse escalates to unprecedented heights, they are driven to bet their every last cent on a $500 million-dollar lottery jackpot. But the prospect of winning brings out the worst in these best friends and they discover compassion and human decency have no place in a world where money can buy the American Dream. Windfall is a dark, hilarious comedy that delves into how far any of us would go, how despicable we might become, in our desperation to have it all.

LILY AND THE PATTY MELT PARADOX

A profound understanding of Quantum Entanglement, Schrodinger’s Cat and The Double Slit Experiment should surely guarantee comprehending the meaning of life, which in turn should assure happiness and success. Right? But what if it doesn’t? Such is Lilly’s paradox. Born a super genius, her intelligence has developed to clairvoyant levels of insight accompanied by a longing to be validated, to belong, to feel. But if you can’t see yourself and your place in this world, do you really exist?

RE:SOLUTIONS

Three married couples gather to celebrate their 10th New Year’s Eve together. They originally met at the private school their kids attended and have celebrated all the milestones of childrearing as a group. Tonight, however, marks a new phase of life for them as their kids have gone off to college leaving them empty nesters. How the couples handle being “alone together” after being distracted from their marriages by while raising a family sets the stage for brutally honest (and hilarious) evaluations, self-reflections and dramatic resolutions. RE:SOLUTIONS takes a look at what happens to us all after we’re “fired” from the greatest job we’ve ever had… raising our children.

AUNT RUBY’S RED VELVET CAKE

Aunt Ruby is 100 years old. She is also a virgin. Regrets? Yeah, she’s got a few. But none greater than her disappointment that because she has lived so long, she has nothing left to leave her great niece and nephew. A family joke about auctioning off her virginity as a way to fund their inheritance turns viral when the entire world wonders what and for how much one sweet old lady could do with her “Red Velvet Cake.” The government, ever vigilant in keeping America safe, forbids Ruby from engaging in any illegal “bake sales.” A fired-up Ruby takes her lifetime of defending the liberties of women, and stands up/lies down for what is right. For women. For freedom. For a million dollars.

COVENT

GARDEN

After closing the biggest business deal of his life, Jerry Green arrives home champagne in hand, to discover his wife having sex with a 20 something hunk on the living room floor. The young man is then held captive, and rather captivated, and forced to witness the damaging effects his actions have caused. Although Jerry and his wife Lucy traditionally handle their marital problems with sardonic verbal sparring and cunning insults, the brazen nature of the situation forces them to finally confront the demons of their marriage. As liquor loosens their tongues, Jerry and Lucy rehash issues and conflicts from the past, present and future. Indiscretions, long ago mutually swept under the carpet, are dragged out for a second go, highlighting just how deft couples can be at convincing themselves their relationship is worth saving.
